How does variable data printing work?
Each product begins with a pre-made design template and a collection of data that is exclusive to it. This data can consist of text, pictures, or other visuals. Using digital printing software, the artwork and the particular data are printed together on each individual item. This eliminates the requirement to manually craft multiple variations of the artwork since it is all done for you!
What do I need to set up a VDP print run?
Setting up your cup sleeve artwork for variable data printing is a breeze. The most basic setup involves a static artwork design file (containing all design elements that stay the same for each printed item) and a spreadsheet document saved as a CSV file with the unique data you want to print.
What if I want to print unique images on each item?
Printing variable images is no hassle at all; simply add each image’s file name within your database, and send us a folder file with all your image files as well as your static artwork file and your database file.
It is easy to print variable images; just include the names of the individual images in your database and give us a folder containing all the separate images, your static artwork file, and your database file.

How can I specify how VDP elements are arranged on my print design?
Have you thought about adding Variable Data Printing (VDP) elements to your custom cup sleeve design? You can either leave a note with your order at the checkout, or if you’re using InDesign Photoshop or Illustrator, you can add placeholder text or graphics on a separate layer to the rest of your cup sleeve design. Either way, we’ll send you a digital proof of your design which will indicate where the VDP elements are placed and how they’ll look on your final printed cup sleeve. If you need to adjust the design before going to print, simply let us know!
